As for me, I have sailed over the depths and widths of the sea, its peaks and troughs; rocking with delight, yet uneasy; moving swiftly, propelled by the wind over the flood of furious waves; striving towards islands, cities and remote lands; laden with cargo full of valuables, ornaments and equipment so as to ameliorate your lives. Let us hurry and open these cargo containers and trade the discoveries of our History to the ears [of listeners] in exchange for their attention. Above all, it is because of your command, most valiant Trdat, king of Greater Armenia, that we bring forth the profits of our work for the edification of your country, and by our steersmanship we shall add to the wealth of your treasury.
