Genealogy and antiquity. Whence sprang the patriarchs of the line of Sisal, from Adam onward.

 

There is a God-given precept unmistakably aimed at those of us who investigate time: "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by His own authority" [Acts 1:7]. Consequently, it is only the subsequent names and genealogies that we can peruse with some certainty, from the time of the creation of humankind to the establishment of the patriarchs of the line of Sisak. We do this so that you not think that [these ancestors] emerged somehow from an undifferentiated mob of people or that they accidentally or by ambition received primacy here. On the contrary, they achieved lordship through the inheritance of sons from fathers of an extremely noble and blessed line.

Սակս ազգաբանութեան եւ նախնական նախակարգութեան եթէ ուստի՛ սերեցան նահապետութիւնք Սիսական ազգին յԱդամայ հետէ:

 

Տիրապատուէր հրամանաւն պարաւանդեալ յանպայքար օրէնս ժամանակախոյզ խնդրողացն Այն, որ ասէ «ո՛չ է ձեզ գիտել զժամս եւ զժամանակս զոր Հայր եդ յիւրում իշխանութեան», միայն հետոց անուանացն եւ ծննդաբանութեանց հետեւեսցուք ստոյգ կտակաւ յարմատոյն մարդկութեանս մինչ ի սկիզբն նահապետութեան ազգին Սիսական: Եւ այս վասն զի ծանիցես զնոսա ո՛չ ի խարնիճաղանճ ամբոխից, կամ վասն յառաջադիմութեան ինչ կամ վասն պատահման ունել զնախագահ նահապետութիւնն. Այլ ի ծայրագոյն եւ յազնուական տոհմէ յաստուածաստեղծ մարդոյն սկսեալ երեւելի հարազատութեամբ որդիք զհարս փոխանակելով՝ հասին ի նախարարութիւն:
