Then, with God-ordained^{1cf. 2 Mac 6:23, θεοκτίστου} labor,^{2cf. Mt. 9:37-38} they set to translating, writing and teaching the proof of the good tidings.^{3cf. Khorenatsi 3:60} And they especially observed the elevation of the commandments proclaimed by the Lord,^{4Exodus 20} who had come to the blissful Moses concerning all that had happened,^{5Exodus 1-15} to write down the exalted divine sayings delivered to him to be preserved for the ages to come. So also it was commanded to the other prophets: “Take a scroll, new and large, and write in it with a scribe’s pen,”^{6Isaiah 8:1; cf. Jer. 36:2, 36:28, 36:32}, and elsewhere, “Write your vision on a tablet, establish it in writing, that those who read it may read it openly.”^{7Habbakuk 2:2} And David indicates more clearly that the portion^{8cf. Acts 16:12, μερίς} of the God-given laws is for all generations, saying “Let this be written for another generation,”^{9Psalm 101:19 (LXX)} and “The Lord shall recount it in the writings of the peoples.”^{10Psalm 86:6 (LXX)} Which Christ, the Savior of all, came and fulfilled with his gracious command: “Go out to all nations,”^{11cf. Matthew 28:19} and “these good tidings will be proclaimed throughout the inhabited world.”^{12Mt 24:14; Mt 26:13; Mk 24:19} Therefore, gaining confidence, our blissful fathers demonstrated their cultivation^{13cf. 1 Tim 3:13, παρρησία} and visibly bore fruit^{14cf. At that time, our blissful and beloved country of Armenia was absolutely marvelous. Through the efforts of the two peers,^{17i.e., Mashtots and Sahak} Moses—the teacher of the law—as well as the prophetic rank, and the forward-reaching^{18cf. Thereafter, there was wholehearted joy and a spectacle^{20cf. 1 Cor 4:9, θέατρον} to behold. For the country, which had previously been stranger even to the fame^{21cf.
