All things came to be through him, and without him came to be not a single thing that has come to be. In him was life, and this life was the light of men.

Ամենայն ինչ նովաւ եղեւ, եւ առանց նորա եղեւ եւ ոչ ինչ որ ինչ եղեւն: Նովաւ կեանք էր, եւ կեանքն էր լոյս մարդկան:

πάντα δι’ αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο, καὶ χωρὶς αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο οὐδὲ ἕν ὃ γέγονεν. ἐν αὐτῷ ζωὴ ἦν, καὶ ἡ ζωὴ ἦν τὸ φῶς τῶν ἀνθρώπων·

Pán-ta di af-toú e-gé-ne-to kaí cho-rís af-toú e-gé-ne-to ou-dé én ó gé-go-nen. En af-tó zo-í ín, kaí i zo-í ín tó phós tón an-thró-pon.

Translate:

  1. Πάντα ἐν ἀρχῇ ἐγένετο.
  2. Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν οὐδὲ ἕν.
  3. Ὁ λόγος ζωὴ ἦν.
  4. Ὁ ἄνθρωπος δι'αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο.
  5. Ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ δι ̓ αὐτοῦ ζωὴ ἦν.
  6. Αὐτόν,αὐτήν,αὐτό.
  7. Χωρὶς τῶν ἀνθρώ πων.
  8. Ἄνθρωπος ἐγενόμην, ἄνθρωπος γέγονεν.
  9. Καὶ χωρὶς αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο οὐδὲ ἕν, ὃ γέγονεν.

  11. The life was the light of men.
  12. All things were made through him.
  13. The Word was life.
  14. Apart from him not one thing was made.
  15. That-which hath been made was life through him.
  16. The man, of the men; through him, in him, without him.
  17. He is made man, he was made man, he hath been made man.
