ոխսոխ - grudge
ընդ որթոյ մորենի՝ ասաց հակառակեալ, թէ նման քեզ բարձրանամ, եւ զոյգ պտղաբերիմ. եւ առաւելում՝ զի ի ձմերայնի անթառամանթառամ - everlasting
լինիմ։ Ապաբանեացապաբանել - to silence
որթ զնա, թէ պարծանք քո կատարեալ է՝ յորժամ ի հնձանհնձել - to harvest
ժողովեսցիս յաշնան յեղանակի։ Եւ ի լինել աշնան կոխան եղեալկոխան ընել - to tread on
մորենի։ Ուսանիմք յեղանակէ աստի, զի յանդիմանել անմտութեան ի դէպ է լռել, եւ ոչ երկրորդ ձեւանալ կատարելոյկատարեալ ձեւանալ - to pretend to be blameless
։ Եւ միովն բազմակատարին նմանել ոչ է կար։
The blackberry, having a grudge against the vine, said in a contrary way: "I shall ascend like you and bear fruit like you and furthermore, I shall remain green in wintertime." The vine rebuffed it, without reply, [saying to itself]: "Your boast will be fulfilled at harvest in the fall when you are gathered." And in the fall, the blackberry was trampelled. We learn from this that silence is appropriate in countering stupidity and not to play a second at it. And it is impossible to resemble one who performs many functions [by resembling him] in one thing.
