՚ի բարձրութիւն լերանց՝ համարձակեցաւ համարձակիլ - to dare
լինել եւ երկին. եւ ոչ կարաց զլուսաւորս ընդ ինքեամբ ինք - one's self
առնել նման երկնի՝ եւ լուսաւորել։ Յանդիմանէ նշանակս նշանակ - sign, symbol
զաշխարհական ոմանս, որ փքացեալփքացնել - to inflate
ի ճոխութիւն իւրեանց, զքահանայից կամին յափշտակել զպատիւ. սակայն լուսաւորին՝ քան լուսաւորեն, նման երկրի, զի լուսաւորի՝ քան լուսաւորէ։
Earth, gazing at the height of the mountains, made bold to be Heaven. But unlike Heaven, it was unable to produce the luminaries of itself, and to shed light. This reprimands some laymen who, puffed up by their wealth, want to ravage the priests' honor. But they are illuminated rather than illuminating, just as the Earth is illuminated and does not illuminate.
