After this, he took leave to go to the territories of Aghuank. He went down into the country, came to the royal places, saw the holy bishop of Aghuank, whose name they called Jeremiah, and their king, whose name was Arsvagh, along with all the freemen, who welcomed^{1cf. Acts 17:7, ὑποδέχομαι} him with great attentiveness^{2cf. 1 Cor 7:35, εὐπρόσεδρος} in the name of Christ. Then he inquired from them and set forth [the purpose] for which he had come. And the two who were joined together—the bishop and the king—promised^{3cf. 1 Tim 6:21, ἐπαγγέλλομαι} to submit to^{4cf. Luke 10:17, ὑποτάσσω} the learning [of the new letters]. From the districts and the places under their authority, they commanded that the multitude of male children be introduced to the art of writing, to bring them together in suitable and appropriate places, group by group, in schools, and they arranged stipends for their care.^{5cf. So when that command was accomplished^{6cf. Job 1:5, συντελέω} through their works and deeds, the blissful one took Jeremiah by the hand and immediately set to work on translating the divine Scriptures, through which, in the twinkling of an eye, the savage, animalistic^{7cf. անասուն} and brutish land of Aghuank became acquainted with the prophets, familiar with the Apostles, heirs to the Gospel, and not at all ignorant of the things handed down^{8cf. Mk 7:13, παραδίδωμι} by God.^{9cf. Agath, 840} Again, the God-revering king of Aghuank, with even greater sincerity^{10cf. Mt 10:16, ἀκέραιος} and diligence,^{12cf. Romans 12:8, σπουδή} reprovingly^{13cf. Titus 2:15, ἔλεγχε} commanded^{14cf. Luke 8:29, παραγγέλλω} the Satanic and demonical nation to reject and free themselves from their vain, obsolete^{15cf. And when he had done this in communion^{20cf. 2 Cor 6:14, κοινωνία} [with everyone],^{21cf. Agath, 788} fulfilling their needs and the eagerness of their wills,^{22cf. 2 Cor 8:11} he also supported the pious teaching of the holy bishop of the region of Baghasakan, whose name they called Mushegh, and then took leave of the king, the bishops and the whole church of Aghuank. He appointed^{23cf. Acts 6:3, καθίστημι} some of his students as overseers, along with a priest of the royal court whose name was called Jonathan, who had found^{24cf. Acts 24:2, τυγχάνω} great encouragement^{25cf. Acts 24:10, εὐθύμως} from the teaching.
