Ցոյցք Առաքելական Քարոզութեան

ԼԳ.

Եւ որպէս ի ձեռն կուսի տարալսեցելոյ զարկուցաւ մարդն եւ անկեալ մեռաւ, այսպէս եւ ի ձեռն կուսին, որ լուաւ բանին Աստուծոյ, ի վերստին արծարծեալ մարդն կենաք ընկալաւ զկեանսին: Քանզի եկն Տէրն զկորուսեալ ոչխարն ի վերստին խնդրել, եւ կորուսեալ մարդն էր։ Եւ վասն այսորիկ եւ ստեղծուած ինչ ոչ եղեւ, այլ ի նմանէ յայնմանէ, որ յԱդամայ զազգն ունէր, զնմանութիւն ստեղծուածին պահեաց. քանզի պարտ եւ արժան էր ի վերստին գլխաւորելն Ադամայ ի Քրիստոս, զի կլեալ ընկղմեսցի մահկանացուն յանմաhութենէն, եւ զԵւայ ի Մարիամ, զի կոյս կուսի բարեխաւս եղեալ, լուծցէ եւ խափանեսցէ զկուսական տարալսութիւնն ի ձեռն կուսական հլութեանն։

XXXIII.

And in the same way that man was struck down to death by the disobedience of a virgin, it was through the Virgin that man heard the word of God, was revived and received life. For the Lord came to seek once more his lost sheep—and his lost sheep was man. Therefore, He did not become some other creature, but rather preserved the likeness of His creation that descended from Adam. For it was necessary to fulfill Adam anew through Christ, so that mortality be swallowed up by immortality, and Eve through Mary, so that Virgin intercede on behalf of virgin and dissolve virginal disobedience by virginal obedience.
