Ցոյցք Առաքելական Քարոզութեան

ԼԲ.

Արդ ուստի՞ է նախաստեղծին գոյացութիւն. ի կամաց եւ յիմաստութենէն Աստուծոյ եւ ի կոյս երկրէ: «Քանզի ոչ տեղաց Աստուած, ասէ գիր, յառաջ քան զմարդն եղանել. եւ մարդն ոչ էր գործել զերկիր։» Արդ յայսմանէ, մինչդեռ կոյս էր տակաւին, էառ Աստուած հող յերկրէ եւ եստեղծ զմարդն՝ սկիզբն մարդկութեանս: Արդ ՝ զմարդն զայս ի վերստին գլխաւորելով Տէր զնոյն այնմ՝ զմարմնաւորութեան ընկալաւ տնաւրէնութիւն, ի կուսէն ծնեալ կամաւք եւ իմաստութեամբն Աստուծոյ. զի եւ ինքն զառ յԱդամն զնմանութիւն մարմնաւորութեանն ցուցցէ, եւ եղիցի գրեցեալն ի սկզբանն մարդն ըստ կերպարանի եւ նմանութեանն Աստուծոյ։

Now where did the substance of the progenitor come from? From the will and wisdom of God and from Virgin earth. “For God had not caused it to rain upon the earth,” says Scripture, before the creation of man, “and there was no man to till the ground” (Genesis 2:5). Now from this, while the earth was still Virgin, “God took up some of the dust of the earth and formed man” (Genesis 2:7), which was the beginning of humanity. Now this man, [who] received providence in the same embodiment, born from the Virgin by the will and wisdom of God, was fulfilled again by the Lord, who demonstrated the pattern of the embodiment that comes from Adam, that it be as it was written in the beginning: “man according to the image and likeness of God” (Genesis 1:26).
