Ցոյցք Առաքելական Քարոզութեան

ԼԱ.

Արդ զմարդն միաւորեցոյց ընդ Աստուած եւ հասարակութիւն միաբանութեան Աստուծոյ եւ մարդոյգործեաց, մեր ոչ կարացելոց այլ աւրինակաբար ինչ կցորդութիւն ընդունել զանապականութեանն, եթէ ոչ էր նորա եկեալ առ մեզ: Քանզի անտեսանելի եւ աներեւոյթ ելով անապականութիւնն, ոչինչ մեզ աւգուտ առնէր. արդ տեսանելի եղեւ, զի ըստ ամենայն մասին կցորդութիւն ընդունելութեան առցուք զանապականութեանն. եւ վասն զի ի նախաստեղծեցելումն Ադամայ ամենեքին շաղեալք կապեցաք ընդ մահու ի ձեռն տարալսութեանն, պարտ եւ արժան էր ի ձեռն հլութեանն վասն մեր մարդոյն եղելոյ լուծանիլ մահուն. վասն զի մահն մարմնոյ թագաւորեաց, ի ձեռն մարմնոյ պարտ եւ արժան էր խափանումն առեալ ի բաց թողուլ զմարդն ի հարստահարութենէն իւրմէ: Արդ Բանն մարմին եղեւ, զի ի ձեռն որ մարմնոյ իշխեացն եւ կալաւ եւ տիրեաց մեղքն, ի ձեռն սորա խափանեալ այլ մի եւս լիցի ի մեզ. եւ վասն այսորիկ զնոյն նախաստեղծեցելումն զմարմնութիւն ընկալաւ Տէրն մեր, որպէս մատուցեալ մրցեսցի վասն հարցն եւ յաղթեսցէ Ադամաւ որ Ադամաւ զարկոյցն զմեզ։

XXXI.

Now He united man with God and established communion between God and man, for we could not partake of incorruption had he not come among us, as incorruption, being imperceptible and invisible, would give us no benefit. Thus, He became visible, that we might partake of incorruptibility. And because everyone is entangled with the original creation of Adam, we were all bound to death through his disobedience. It was incumbent on us to break free from the yoke of death through Him who for us became man; and since death reigned over the flesh, it was necessary that it be overcome through the flesh, freeing man from its oppression. Now “the Word became flesh”, that sin should be abolished through the very flesh that it had come to prevail, and no longer be in us. And therefore our Lord accepted the same embodiment from the first man, that he might contend for the fathers and conquer through Adam that which struck us through Adam.
