Այլ ի սոսա մինն ընդ նզովիւք անկաւ եւ երկուքն զաւրհնութիւն ժառանգեցին վասն իւրեանց գործոցն, քանզի ի նոսա կրտսերագոյնն, որ կոչին Քամ, ծաղր արարեալ զհարբն, եւ ի մեղս ամբարշտութեան դատապարտեալ վասն ի հայրն թշնամանաց եւ անարգութեան՝ նզովս ընկալաւ, եւ այնմ, որ ի նմանէ զաւակն եղեւ ամենեցուն հասոյց ի նզովիցն, ուստի դէպն եղեւ ամենայնի, որ յետ նորա ազգն՝ նզովեալք եղանել, ի մեղս աճեցեալք եւ բազմացեալք։ Իսկ Սեմ եւ Յաբեթ եղբարք նորա վասն առ հայրն բարեպաշտութեան հասին աւրհնութեան։ Արդ, նզովքն Քամայ, զոր նզովեացն զնա հայրն Նոյ՝ այս է. «Նզովեալ Քամ մանուկ. Ծառայ եղիցի եղբարց իւրոց». Հասեալ յազգն նորա՝ բազում զաւակ արար ի վերայ երկրի, ի չորեքտասան դարս ի վայր աստ ուրեմն բուսեալ, յորժամ եւ հնձեցան յԱստուծոյ ազգն նորա, մատնեալ ի դատաստան։ Քանզի Քանանացիք եւ Քետացիք եւ Փերեզացիք եւ Խեւացիք եւ Ամուրհացիք եւ Յեբուսացիք եւ Գերգեսացիք եւ Սոդովմացիք, Արաբացիք եւ որ ի Փիւնիկէ բնակեալ են, ամենայն Եգիպտացիք եւ Լիդացիք ի զաւակէն Քամայ են, որք անկան ընդ նզովիւքն՝ յերկար ձկտեցելոց նզովիցն ի վերայ ամբարշտացն։

But one of these fell under a curse and two inherited a blessing on account of their works; for the younger of them, who is called Ham, was condemned for the sin of impiety as a curse for turning hostile toward and dishonoring his father, for he had mocked him. This curse he passed on to all his offspring, and so it happened that all his descendants grew and multiplied in sin. But his brothers, Shem and Japheth, received a blessing for their piety toward their father. Now the curse of Ham, with which his father Noah cursed him, was this: “Cursed be Ham the child, let him be a servant to his brothers” (cf. Genesis 9:25). His line brought many descendants upon earth who grew here for 14 generations, when God cut down his line and delivered them to judgment. For the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, Amorites, Jebusites, Gergesites, Sodomites, Arabs and those who lived in Phoenicia (cf. Joshua 9:1), and all the Egyptians and Libyans are descendants of Ham who fell under the curse, which extended for a long time over the ungodly.
