ԺԹ.

 

Մինչ զի դատաստան ի վերայ եկեալ աշխարhիս յԱստուծոյ՝ ի ձեռն ջրհեղեղի տասներորդ դարույետ նախաստեղծին, միմիայն գտանել արդար զՆոյ, որ վասն ինքեան արդարութեանն եւ ինքն ապրեցաւ եւ կին նորա եւ երեք որդիք իւր եւ երեք կանայք որդւոց նորա՝ ի ներքս արգելեալք ի տապանն, հանդերձ ամենայն կենդանաւք, զորս Աստուած հրամայեաց Նոյի մուծանել ի տապանն։ Եւ ապականութեանն եղելոյ ամենեցուն, եւ մարդկան եւ այլեւս կենդանեացն, որք ի վերայ երկրի էին՝ապրիւր պահեցեալն ի տապանին։ Եւ էին երեք որդիքն Նոյի Սեմ, Քամ եւ Յաբեթ, որ դարձեալ ազգն բազմացաւ. քանզի սկիզբն այնոցիկ, որ յետ ջրհեղեղին մարդկան՝ սոքա են:

[So it was] until the judgment of God came upon the earth by means of the flood in the 10^th generation after the progenitor [Adam], when only Noah was found righteous (Genesis 6:9), on account of which he was delivered, along with his wife, his three sons, and the three wives of his sons, being shut inside the ark together with all the animals which God commanded Noah to take in. When destruction befell all—both men and also the animals upon earth—those in the ark were conserved. And the three sons of Noah were Shem, Ham and Japheth, by whom the race of man multiplied again, for they are the beginning of mankind after the flood.
