Ցոյցք Առաքելական Քարոզութեան

ԺԲ.

 

Արդ՝ տէր արարեալ զմարդն երկրի եւ անց որ ի սմա ամենեցուն, զանխլաբար եւ այնոցիկ, որ ի սմա ծառայքն են՝ տէր զսա կացաց: Բայց սակայն նոքա էին յիւրեանց կարելութեանն, իսկ տէրն, այսինքն մարդն փոքրիկ էր, քանզի տղայ էր, եւ պարտ եւ արժան էր նմա աճեցեալ այսպէս ի կատարելութիւնն գալ: Եւ զի սնունդն նմա եւ աճելութիւնն խրախութեամբ փափկութեամբ եղիցի՝ լաւագոյն քան զաշխարհ նմա, աւդով, գեղեցկութեամբ, լուսով, կերակրով, տնկաւք, պտղով, ջուրբք, զայս վայր պատրաստեալ առ ի կենցաղքն պիտոյիւք առաւելեալ, եւ դրաստ անուն է սմա: Եւ այսպէս գեղեցիկ եւ բարի էր դրաստն, Բանն Աստուծոյ հանապազորդ ի նմա գնայր, շրջէր եւ խաւսէր ընդ մարդոյն զհանդերձեալսն, որ լինելոցն էին՝ յառաջագոյն տպաւորելով, զի բնակից լիցի եւ խաւսեցի ընդ նմա եւ եղիցի ընդ մարդկան՝ ուսուցանելով նոցա զարդարութիւն։ Իսկ մարդն մանուկ էր, չեւ եւս կատարեալ ունելով խորհուրդս, վասն որոյ եւ դիւրաւ ի մոլորեցուցչէն պատրեցաւ։

Now, [He] made man lord of the earth and of all that is in it, conspicuously appointing those who were servants in the earth as lords of it. But although they were within their capacity, the lord; that is, man, was little, for he was but a child, and it was necessary that he, in his growth, should come to perfection. And so that his nourishment and growth may be festive and delicate, a more beautiful place was prepared for him with all the things necessary for life—superior in air, beauty, light, food, plants, fruits, waters—its name, Paradise. And so beautiful and good was Paradise that the Word of God was ever there, walking and talking with man, auguring what was to come, that he would live with him, talk with him, and be with mankind, teaching them righteousness. But man was only a child, not yet of mature thought, and thus was he easily deceived by the seducer.
