Ցոյցք Առաքելական Քարոզութեան

ԺԱ.

Իսկ զմարդն իւրովքն եստեղծ ձեռաւք՝ զմաքրագոյն եւ զմանրագոյն յերկրէ առեալ, չափով ի միասինխառնեալ զիւր զաւրութիւնն ընդ երկիր, եւ քանզի ստեղծուածին զիւրսն պարադրեաց ձեւս, զի եւ որտեսանիցինն Աստուածաձեւ իցէ: Քանզի կերպարան Աստուծոյ ի վերայ երկրի եդաւ ստեղծեալմարդն։ Եւ զի կենդանի եղիցի՝ փչեաց ի դէմ նորա շունչ կենաց, որպէս զի եւ ըստ փչմանն եւ ըստստեղծուածին նման լինել զմարդն Աստուծոյ։ Արդ, էր ազատ եւ ինքն իշխան՝ այս եղեալ յԱստուծոյ,զի այնոցիկ, որ ի վերայ երկրի իցեն, ամենեցուն իշխեսցէ: Եւ մեծս այս աշխար արարածս, յԱստուծոյպատրաստեալ առաջ քան զստեղծուած մարդոյն՝ մարդոյն տուաւ վայր, ունելով յինքեան զամենայնինչ։ Եւ էին ի վայրից եւ գործովք ծառայքն Աստուծոյ այնր, որ Էստեղծն զամենայն, եւ տնաւրէնհազարապետն ունէր զվայրս զայս, որ ի վերայ ծառայակցացն կարգեալ էր, եւ ծառայքն հրեշտակքէին, իսկ տնաւրէն հազարապետ հրեշտակապետն։

Yet He created man with his own hands, taking the purest and finest earth and mixing in proportion his power, for he conferred his own image to his creatures that they be seen in divine fashion. For in the form of God was man created and placed on earth. And to bring man to life, He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (Genesis 2:7), that according to his breath and creation, man would be as like unto God. Now man was free and autonomous, made thus by God, that he rule over all things upon the earth. And this great creation that is the world, prepared by God before the creation of man, gave man his place, containing in itself all things. Also in this place with their works were the servants of God, who created all things. And the chief steward of this place was designated over his co-servants, who were angels, the chief steward himself being the Archangel.
