Ցոյցք Առաքելական Քարոզութեան

Ե.

Արդ՝ այսպէս ցուցանի. մի Աստուած, հայր, անեղ, անտեսանելի, արարիչ ամենեցուն, որոյ գեր ի վերոյ Աստուած այլ ոք չիք, եւ զկնի որոյ այլ Աստուած ո՛չ է, եւ զի բանաւոր է Աստուած, եւ վասն այսորիկ բանիւ զեղեալսս արար. Եւ Հոգի Աստուած, ապա Հոգւով զամենայն ինչ զարդարեաց, որպէս եւ մարգարէն ասէ. «Բանիւ Տեառն երկինք հաստատեցան եւ հոգովն նորա ամենայն զաւրութիւն նոցա»։

 

Արդ, վասն զի բանն հաստատէ, այսինքն է մարմնոյ գործէ, եւ գոյացութիւնն ելոյ շնորհէ, իսկ Հոգին յարդարէ եւ կերպարանէ զզանազանութիւնս զաւրութեանցն, յիրաւի եւ վայելչաբար Բանն Որդի, իսկ Հոգին իմաստութիւն Աստուծոյ կոչի: Արդ քարտք եւ Պաւղոս առաքեալն նորա ասէ. «Մի Աստուած, Հայր, որ ի վերայ ամենեցուն եւ ընդ ամենեսին եւ յամենեսին ի մեզ». քանզի ի վերայ ամենեցունն Հայր է, իսկ ընդ ամենեսին Բանն. քանզի ի ձեռն սորա ամենայն ինչ եղեւ ի Հաւրէ. իսկ յամենեսին ի մեզ Հոգին, որ աղաղակէ. «Ա՛բբա, Հայր», եւ յարդարէ զմարդն ի նմանութիւն Աստուծոյ։

 

Արդ, Հոգին ցուցանէ զԲանն, եւ վասն այսորիկ մարգարէքն զՈրդին Աստուծոյ պատմէին, իսկ Բանն յաւդացուցանէ զՀոգին, եւ վասն այսորիկ պատմող մարգարէիցն ինքն է, եւ տարեալ հանէ զմարդն առ Հայրն:

Now, as it has been signified: there is one God, the Father, increate, invisible, Creator of all, above whom there is no greater God, and after whom there is no other God; and since God is rational (բանաւոր), He created all things rationally (բանիւ, i.e., by the Word); and God is Spirit, and by Spirit He fashioned all things, as also the prophet says: “By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their power by his Spirit. (Psalm 33:6)”

Therefore, because the Word establishes (that is, by the work of the body) and confers substance (cf. Ephesians 4:16), and the Spirit fashions and forms the varieties of forces, so truly and elegantly is the Word the Son, and is the Spirit called the wisdom of God. Thus does the letter of Paul the Apostle say: “One God and Father who is above all, and through all, and in all.” (Ephesians 4:6) For above all is the Father and through all is the Word, for through it everything was made by the Father, and within us all is the Spirit, which cries ‘Abba, Father!’ (Galatians 4:6) and fashions man in the likeness of God.

Now the Spirit shows the Word, wherefore the prophets told of the Son of God; but the Word articulates the Spirit, wherefore this is what the prophets relate, guiding man to the Father.
